Rules & Instructions ---History & Civics Projects

ICSE Class 10 project work carries 20 marks and its easy to score good marks even with a well-to-go project.
But if you want to score a perfect 20, your project should look neat and well organised. Here are some suggestions to get the maximum marks for your projects (hopefully 20 out of 20).

But this being such a crucial year, student/parents cannot afford to take it easy. That is why its important to look for ways to be more effective, and if required, seek extra help.

While we do help with assignments and projects, we discourage students doing a direct copy(copying directly from different sites). Instead, we encourage them to use us as helping hands to carry out research, find information, which the students can then put in their own words.

Format of the ICSE PROJECT

In most cases, the subject teacher provides the format in which the project needs to be submitted.
Usually the project is of around 18-20 pages including introduction, Analysis and conclusion.Almost all the projects include these:
  • Contents
  • Acknowledgement
  • Introduction(1 pg)
  • Analysis and Interpretation(Body part write about the topics using different headings)
  • Conclusion(1pg.)
  • Bibliography (list of the books referred to in a scholarly work,
  • Appendix/Appendices(supplementart Materials)
LENGTH OF THE PROJECT

Most ICSE School projects are about 18-20 pages long, including the introduction, Analysis and conclusion. But you may have to follow what your teacher has instructed, when it comes to the length of the project.
Rules***
  • Make sure you submit your project on time, assuming you have been given a deadline by the school.
  • If you want full marks, make sure you put in the efforts.
  • Search different books and site through searchengine and find out the data.
  • Dont try to copy from one site.
  • Make the project neat, structured and well-organized, it shows you have put in the efforts to do it.
  • Make sure you proof-read your project, edit it, highlight your views, and more importantly at least read it yourself (there are many students who make their project without much understanding of the their own project).
  • Make use of relevant pictures throughout the project.
  • Make sure all the instructions that were provided by your teacher in the class, regarding the project, have been incorporated.
  • Dont use whitner

How to Prepare for Class 10 HISTORY & CIVICS

  • Besides mugging up the facts, it is also important to have good writing skills in order to get good marks in lengthy questions.
  • Connecting the historical events to real life experiences can prove beneficial. Try to relate the dates of battle to some dates of your life, say if some battle happened in 1887 and you are born in 1987, then just remember that it happened 100 years before your birth. This way you won’t ever get confused with the dates.
  • Retaining some of the vital terms can help you score better in class 10 exam. Though this is not necessary but this is where you can score better.
  • Though crammers are most successful in this domain but understanding can also prove to be beneficial. Instead of mugging up try to understand what happened after what in a battle.
  • As far as lengthy answers are concerned, students should try to learn them in points. This will not only save time but will also help in better retention of facts.
    • Referring ICSE sample papaers imperative. They help in getting acquainted with the trend of questions asked in the exam. Practicing mock tests also helps in keeping a check on speed and the writing skills.
    • While sitting for the ICSE class 10 exam, it is important to go through the question paper once in order to get an idea about the level of questions. But students must not get panicky on going through the paper. Begin with the short answers first and then move on to the lengthy ones.
    • In case you forget some answer in between, try to recall all the related events. If you still can’t remember leave some space for the answer but don’t waste your time. It has often been witnessed that moving on to another questions can help you recall the facts.
    • Revision is extremely important. However lengthy the paper may be try to take out some time for revision. Revision can help you in filling up the missing dates or facts.
    • Highlighting the headings and important points can prove to be fruitful. The highlighted text grabs the attention of the examiner and majority of the examiners then don’t bother to go through the whole text. In such cases, apt heading and highlighted points can fetch you prefect scores.
    • Maintaining a good speed is of utmost importance so that you able to attempt the entire paper.
These are some of the suggestions that can help you in acing the monster called social studies with ease. Just follow these tips and fetch good marks in your class 10 HISTORY AND CIVICS paper.

DEAR STUDENTS JUST A MINUTE

See..all the 24 chapters are important.
But for history do the first 6 chapters nicely as they carry a lot of marks in the short answers.
The contributions of leaders both of the assertives and moderates are important.
For civics part Parliament needs to be done nicely as it is a long chapter and has lots of functions of the Lok Sabha,Rajya Sabha and Parliament. The chapter needs to be done throughly.
For Prime Minister the most common questions are Functions of the Cabinet,Differences b/w the Council and the Cabinet, collective and Individual Responsibility………..but nothing should be left.
For the SC and HC the Original and Appellate Jurisdictions, the cases under them, and other various Jurisdictions of the couurts.
Chapter on Gandhian Phase-CDM and Non-Cooperation,significance ,objectives ect.
For Quit India,SCB and Home Rule Movement- the reasons for launch, various events and significance.(SCB contributions included).
For Independence and Partition all the plans- WavellMountbatten,Cabinet Mission and Independence Act.
Anyways …..nothing can be left out.
